Mahāmṛtyuñjaya Seminar Munich 2018
 
This weekend we dedicate to the great Śiva mantra, theMṛtyuñjaya Mantra, literally "the conqueror of death", or demMahāmṛtyuñjaya Mantra, literally “the Great Conqueror of Death”. The former we find in all four Vedas, ie it is very old, nevertheless it is practiced very intensively in India to this day and together with theGayatri Mantraare both the most well-known mantras of the Vedas!
As the main mantra for healing and invoking protection, it is also practiced for prosperity and as a tool of liberation as well. The science of converting poison into nectar developed in this mantra, a central ritual theme of later Tantrism.
There it is supplemented with sound germ syllables/Bījamantras and is now calledMahāmṛtyuñjaya Mantra, plain without bijamantrasMṛtyuñjaya Mantra. We will learn how to put on his special sound body, how to meditate and how to use it. We also practice the Vedic recitation methodGhaṇapāṭhaa.
